Microdermabrasion is often a key part of an overall treatment
program that includes medical grade home care products and often,
peels or facials.

Who is it for?

People who want to improve the texture of the skin as well as help
some forms of acne, oily skin, blackheads and whiteheads. It is safe
and effective for all skin types and tones and safe for the neck,
chest, hands and face.

What is it?

Microdermabrasion is a "mechanical" facial that uses a hand-held
device to exfoliate and stimulate the skin. Mildly abrasive,
microdermabrasion removes the outer layer of dull, dead skin
revealing the smoother, clearer skin underneath.

How does it work?

The hand-held device is moved with precision over the skin emitting
a highly controlled jet of micro-crystals which gently remove
superficial layers of dead skin. The device is a closed vacuum
system allowing the release of the fine crystals while
simultaneously vacuuming used crystals, dead skin and other
impurities into a collection bottle.

What can I expect?

The treatment takes approximately 20 - 30 minutes. There is no down
time and you can return to all your normal activities right away.

Results

Microdermabrasion is best done initially in a series as results are
gradual and will be incremental with each session. While the doctor
or nurse will recommend a personalized plan, a series of 3 to 6
treatments scheduled 2 to 4 weeks is a good start, followed by a
maintenance program of one session every 3 months.

Microdermabrasion is frequently done in combination with a Glycolic
(Refinity) peel for even better results.

Please note: Microdermabrasion cannot improve loose or deeply
wrinkled skin.
